Sustainable Agriculture Facilitators

Local Land Services provides a Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator (SAF) in each region to:

engage and inform farmers, landholders, community groups and agriculture industries within their region about climate-smart, sustainable agriculture practices
facilitate partnerships and connections to assist farmers, landholders, community groups and agriculture industries to work together
support the delivery of the Australian Government Climate-Smart sustainable agriculture projects in their region.

Sustainable Agriculture Facilitators are supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program.

On-ground outcomes and highlights

Across NSW, Sustainable Agriculture Facilitators are delivering a range of locally relevant training workshops and events.

Topics included the role of dung beetles in recycling nutrients back into the soil, reducing pests and parasites and improving the water holding capacity of soil.

This will help landholders monitor and manage the condition of their own flocks. This demonstration is part of a range of activities to support sustainable agriculture and production.
