Corowa Health Service to resume theatre services
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is pleased to announce the resumption of theatre services at Corowa Health Service this month.
Services were paused in May 2024 to allow for extensive maintenance of the theatre suite and the installation of new endoscopy equipment. This work has now been completed.
The completion of this upgrade work will allow staff to resume the endoscopy services and minor procedures, which were undertaken at the facility prior to the pause.
MLHD Executive Director Clinical Operations Carla Bailey said services are scheduled to resume at Corowa from 17 July 2025.
“We are pleased the work at Corowa has been completed and that we can now resume services,” Ms Bailey said.
“MLHD is committed to providing the best possible care to our communities and we’re looking forward to seeing regular theatre services resume at Corowa.
“We thank the community for their patience and once again apologise for the inconvenience the pause in theatre services has caused.”
Corowa Health Service Facility Manager Krista Sutherland-Smith said facility staff were looking forward to resuming services.
“The resumption of endoscopy services will once again provide an important local screening and diagnostic service.
“Our staff are very excited about the resumption of services and looking forward to continuing to do what they do best, caring for the people of Corowa and the border region.
“Our priority has always been ensuring that Corowa Health Service continues to play a vital role in the delivery of acute healthcare services to the community.”
