Generous donation to Griffith Base Hospital
Griffith Base Hospital has once again been the recipient of a donation from the organisers of Griffith’s annual Shaheedi Tournament.
Joanne Garlick, the Griffith Base Hospital General Manager, said the hospital has received a donation of $10,000.
“We sincerely thank the organisers, participants, volunteers and wider Sikh community for their continued generosity and support of Griffith Base Hospital,” Ms Garlick said.
“This contribution will be used to purchase equipment to benefit our patients, staff and community here in Griffith.”
The annual Shaheedi Tournament, also known as the Griffith Sikh Games, was held in Griffith on 6-7 June, bringing together more than 20,000 visitors for a weekend celebration of community, culture, heritage and traditional sports.
Each year, funds raised through this much-loved community event are generously donated to Griffith Base Hospital to support the care of our local community.
