Mr Clarke, who has extensive experience in healthcare, is settling into his new role and is looking forward to working with the teams at Griffith and across the District.
“I have received a warm welcome since commencing as Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith Base Hospital. It is truly a privilege to be part of such a dedicated and passionate team,” he said.
“I am looking forward to working with everyone and contributing to the continued success of our team. I am excited for the journey ahead.”
Having completed his nursing training in 1987, he has since pursued additional qualifications in midwifery, business, law, and emergency.
“Over the years, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of roles, including nurse manager in emergency and emergency and director of nursing in drug and alcohol,” Mr Clarke said.
“A key focus in many of these roles has been working with the commissioning team to commission new hospital units, so I am very exciting about the current Griffith Base Hospital development project.”
In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Mr Clarke has worked in regulations with the NSW Nurses & Midwives Council, coordinating a statewide health program for nurses and midwives and participates as a professional member of the Professional Standards Committee and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
“My passion lies in delivering safe high-quality care, supporting staff in reaching their full potential and engaging communities,” he said.
“I am committed to exploring opportunities that align with the vision of nursing, midwifery, and the broader communities that serve the profession and community expectations.”
