Overview of the evaluation
NSW Local Land Services engaged the Natural Resources Commission to develop a Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement (MERI) framework for the NSW Landcare Enabling Program 2023 to 2027.
The NSW Government committed $59 million over four years, from 2023 to 2027, to support Landcare in NSW.
The program supports Landcare communities and volunteers. It strengthens coordination across connected volunteer groups to:
- empower communities
- build knowledge and skills
- support networks
- deliver natural resource management outcomes.
MERI framework
We delivered the MERI framework in February 2025.
The framework will guide program implementation, and monitoring and reporting of achievements against intended outcomes.
It will also support Local Land Services to:
- coordinate monitoring and periodic evaluation of initiatives
- assess program achievements
- demonstrate value for money.
