2024 Together Hawkesbury Awards
Hawkesbury District Hospital staff have been honoured at the recent Together Hawkesbury awards, showcasing their dedication and impact on the community.

The Together ceremony was an opportunity for staff and consumers to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of Hawkesbury Hospital staff, highlighting genuine appreciation for their daily efforts.
Winners of the awards were announced in a special ceremony on Tuesday 26 November 2024.

Outstanding Professional Support Staff Member
Nicole Bull

Nicole works in administration to support the medical workforce team in ED. She works above what is expected of her within her administration role and is a fantastic support to everyone in the ED.
Outstanding Clinician
Bernadette Smith
Bernadette had multiple nominations for this award. She is described as always willing to support her colleagues and being kind and helpful.
Inspiring Leader Award
Lauren Stanley

At the time nominations were open, Lauren was acting in the role of Nurse Unit Manager for Florence Risbey. Whilst acting, she demonstrated dedication, commitment and compassion to her staff and patients.
People Focused Award
Bronwyn Buckley
Bronwyn was in the acting Nurse Unit Manager role for Maria Lock when nominations were open and is a role model for coordinating best patient care. She also follows up consumer feedback both efficiently and effectively.
Volunteer of the Year
Michael McLeay

Michael is a dedicated volunteer who is the welcoming face at the front hospital door many days per week welcoming patients, visitors and staff.
Innovator Award
Phillipa Hearn

Phillipa has reviewed and focused on streamlining the theatre bookings process while managing the daily operations and promoting collaboration, honesty and empowering others to strive to achieve the best results.
Collaborate for Success
Hawkesbury Project Transition Team

This was, and in many ways continues to be, a once in a career project. This award serves as acknowledgment for the collaborative work from St John of God Health Care to Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District staff who undertook the enormous job that was the transition.
Above & Beyond Consumer’s Choice Award
Hawkesbury Intensive Care Unit

As part of their nomination, the team was described as “compassionate and caring” by the consumer who nominated the team when one of their loved one passed away. The nominee was grateful that the team kept them up to date on the phone throughout the admission.
