Awards flow in at annual awards ceremony for Urology
There were accolades aplenty at the latest Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) annual awards ceremony, with multiple Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District urology professionals honoured for their significant contributions to the profession.

Congratulations goes to:
- Dr Jonathan Kam – Winner of Best Oncology Presentation Award
- Marinelle Doctor – Winner ANZUNS Sapphire Award for Nursing Education
- Dr Stuart Jackson – Winner Villis Marshall medal for best paper in Research
- Professor Mohamed Khadra AO – Awarded Distinguished Fellow of the USANZ Society
The Distinguished Fellow of the USANZ Society Award is the highest honour that can be bestowed to members of the Society and recognises individuals who have rendered distinguished service to the practice of urology.
Recipient of the Award, NBMLHD Director of Innovation and Strategy Professor Mohamed Khadra AO is very humbled by the accolade awarded to him and is quick to praise the remarkable talent of those who were also recognised at the awards ceremony.
“I’ve had a long and varied career in medicine. I love what I do and every day I am able to help others improve their quality of life. For me that’s rewarding enough but to have this recognised by my fellow peers is truly humbling,” says Mohamed, who is also the Clinical Director of Surgery at Nepean Hospital.
“Our urology teams across Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District are some of best medical professionals in Australia. It was an absolute honour to share the spotlight with our local talented urology specialists.”
“We have incredible academic and training programs in place at our hospitals and they are helping establish the profiles of these young specialists, ensuring we are prepared for the next generation of health care.”
The Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand is the peak membership organisation for urological surgeons and other health professionals working in the field of Urology.
