Become a consumer representative for Hawkesbury District Hospital
Are you passionate about health services? Do you live or have interest in the Hawkesbury area? Hawkesbury Hospital Engagement Committee (HHEC) is looking for people with experience as a consumer of health services, or as a carer, to represent health consumers in the Hawkesbury.

Jenny Gilder has been a consumer representative at Hawkesbury District Hospital (HDH) in various forms over many years. In the last eight years she has been a formal committee member and made a wonderful contribution to healthcare services at HDH during this time.
“I have found that sitting on the sidelines will not initiate change, but being involved and having a voice does,” says Jenny.
“The hospital and all its staff are welcoming and supportive and it has been an exciting year learning more of how we at Hawkesbury fit into the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD. Come and join us, you will be most welcome!”
We are keen to hear from people 18 years and older. In particularly, those from a diverse background such as speaking a language other than English or living with a disability.
Essential skills include:
- ability to speak from your own experience as a health consumer or carer
- good communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively with others
- able to represent the views of health consumers and your community.
Other criteria includes:
- ability to attend HHEC monthly meetings, in person or online
- ability to represent HHEC on at least one National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard Hawkesbury District Hospital committee
