NBMLHD welcomes its first baby of 2026
It is always a special moment for Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) to welcome the first baby born for the New Year.

At Nepean Hospital, proud parents Madeline and Seungjae welcomed their baby boy Jasper, the first baby born at the Hospital in 2026.
Madeline welcomed baby Jasper in the early hours of New Year’s Day, marking a memorable and meaningful start to 2026 for their family. Jasper is the couple’s first baby, making his arrival even more special.
“He’s our very first baby, so it’s been such a special experience,” says Madeline.
Madeline also has a personal connection to Nepean Hospital, with her mother having worked across both Nepean Public and Private hospitals.
Reflecting on her experience in the Nepean Birth Unit, Madeline expressed her gratitude to the team who supported her and her family.
“The staff have been really kind and made everything feel much easier,” she says. “You want to feel taken care of, especially when it’s your first baby, and they really did that for us.”
Madeline also gave a special thank you to midwives Laura, Claire and Jacqui for their care and support during Jasper’s birth.
We wish baby Jasper, Madeline and Seungjae all the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter, and we extend our warmest wishes to all babies born across Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District in 2026 for happy and healthy lives.
