At Hawkesbury District Hospital, parents Hannah and Ty welcomed baby girl Maggie May also on 1 January.
“I’d love to thank midwives Chantelle and Amy as well as the whole team for making our experience seamless, personalised and memorable. They really took care of us,” says Hannah.
“I want to express my gratitude for how amazing they were. We had the best experience with them,” says Hannah.
At Nepean Hospital, mother Ashleigh welcomed baby boy Lima into the world.
“To have had Lima on the 1st of January and to be the first baby born at Nepean Hospital, where his dad was born has been a wholesome feeling,” says Ashleigh.
“I am so grateful for midwives Ayesha and Naomi for their amazing work with helping deliver my son, with my mother in-law beside me through my long 3-day labour.”
Also born at Nepean Hospital on New Year’s Day was baby Patrick.
Patrick’s proud parents, Kim and Thomas have a special connection to the District with Patrick being the grandson to the late Dr Patrick Cregan AM, former general surgeon from Nepean Hospital and Chair of the NBMLHD Board.
Both mum and dad felt very honoured to have their baby born in the same Hospital where his grandfather spent so much time.
“We were very glad to be able to have little Pat at Nepean. The team were fantastic and ensured he arrived safely. Dad would have been very happy. Thank you to everyone who took such great care of us,” says Thomas.
Registered Nurse, Jamie from Lithgow Hospital and her partner Matthew also welcomed baby Eva on 4 January, the first born at Lithgow Hospital for the year.
"The staff at Lithgow Hospital in general are amazing but now that I have been a patient through maternity; I can attest to their high standard of personalised genuine care in a time of much unknown. Thank you to everyone involved our care during our admission," says Jamie.
We wish all the babies born at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District in 2025, happy and healthy lives.
