Living in the scenic Blue Mountains of Katoomba and working as an educator for young children, Jeanine's life took an unexpected turn in 2022.

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District has released its Year in Review, highlighting another mammoth year of achievements and contributions for the 2023-2024 year.  

Ten years ago, Jie was set for an illustrious career in finance. He had just completed a degree in accounting and his future looked bright. But it was Jie’s struggles growing up as a teenager that propelled him to swap spreadsheets for scrubs. Now eight years on, Jie finds daily fulfilment in bringing hope to others as a registered nurse in Hawkesbury District Hospital’s operating theatres.

Adult patients treated at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) hospitals in 2023 reported positive experiences of care with 93 per cent of patients rating their care as ‘very good’ or ‘good’.
