Wee Waa Health Service provides emergency care and a range of community health services, with a strong focus on delivering safe, high-quality care close to home. We work in partnership with nearby health facilities and use virtual care to connect you with the right support when you need it.
Located in the heart of the North West slopes region of NSW, Wee Waa is a proud rural town known for its strong community spirit and rich agricultural heritage. With access to essential services, schools, and quality healthcare, it’s a welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family.

We offer a range of care options including:
- Emergency care – Stablisation and transfer if specialist care is required
- Virtual care support – Access to emergency and specialist doctors via telehealth
- Community and allied health – Including nursing, physiotherapy, social work and more
Narrabri Community Health supports people living in Narrabri, Wee Waa, Pilliga, Gwabegar, Boggabri, and Bingara through a number of outreach clinics.

Independent review into Wee Waa Health Service
The independent review into Wee Waa Health Service has now concluded. The final report makes 20 recommendations, all of which Hunter New England Local Health District has accepted.
The review was led by a team of experienced health leaders. It involved visits to Wee Waa in April and May, in-depth conversations with community members, staff, and stakeholders, and an examination of successful models of care from across NSW.
The recommendations aim to ensure the Wee Waa community and surrounding areas continue to have access to safe, high-quality care. They focus on five key areas:
- Models of care
- Recruitment and retention of health workers
- Community engagement
- Integrated care and partnerships
- Aboriginal health
