The Direct Deal
NSW Motorways is in ongoing negotiations with private toll road concessionaires.
As part of its response to the Independent Toll Review, the NSW Government has been working to reform Sydney’s complex toll road system, which consists of multiple private toll concessions.
To achieve this, the NSW Government entered into direct deal negotiations with private toll road concessionaires to negotiate pricing reforms and network efficiency. An In Principle Agreement was agreed to in December 2024. It set out areas for further discussion and refinement to guide negotiations.
The negotiations are part of a wider effort to simplify and make the toll system more transparent and sustainable across the motorway network.
NSW Motorways is continuing negotiations with private toll road concessions on behalf of NSW Government and is committed to achieving an outcome that benefits the people and motorists of NSW.
