The NSW Treasurer and the Minister for Small Business have asked the NSW Productivity and Equality Commission to review how NSW Government regulations affect small businesses in the hospitality sector.
The review will examine where regulatory requirements and processes create unnecessary compliance burden or delays for hospitality small businesses, including cafes, restaurants and small bars, and how this affects productivity and business growth.
It will draw on hospitality case studies and analysis of selected regulatory processes to inform practical recommendations and potential reform opportunities for the NSW Government.
The Commissioner will deliver a final report to the Treasurer and the Minister for Small Business in September 2026.
