The Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP) Guidelines are now available.
After extensive consultation, we have published Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP) Guidelines that provide a framework for government, industry and communities to work together to effectively reduce the impact of disasters on NSW communities.
Why do we need to reduce disaster risk?
NSW is facing increasing challenges from disasters. We know that without action, climate change and population growth will only make things worse, impacting lives and communities. We need to take action to make communities safer and more resilient.
Along with the implementation of the State Disaster Mitigation Plan (SDMP), we are developing regional Disaster Adaptation Plans (DAPs) to reduce the cost and impact of disasters in NSW.
