At this meeting the Board discussed the recent weather events affecting Walgett, the Upper Hunter and Mid Coast and the October weather event affecting transmission towers in the Far-West region. The Board also discussed preparedness in the Far North Coast area leading up to Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
They noted the RA’s progress on State Disaster Mitigation Plan (SDMP) actions, the Northern Rivers and Central-West resilient housing programs and updates relating to Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP) Guidelines.
Board members engaged in discussions relating to the Joint Select Committee’s review of the RA Act and the Board’s legislated powers.
