A modern and smart government
Digital connectivity is a foundational requirement to fulfil the NSW Government's ambition of being the world's most customer-centric and digital government. It is also essential for the effective delivery of a range of Premier’s Priorities, strategies such as the State Infrastructure Strategy and Greater Cities Commission Six Cities vision, and Digital NSW priorities. This government transformation has been accelerated by the $2.1 billion Digital Restart Fund investments in digital products and services. Digital connectivity is essential for optimising the usage and effectiveness of these new government products and services.
Effective and widespread use of digital government services

- Government assets, from court houses to rural train stations, are supported by reliable connectivity and digital government services are increasingly accessible in regional areas.
Government connectivity investments are customer-centric, targeted and place-based
In practice, this should mean:
- All-of-government connectivity investments are supported by department collaboration, data sharing and a system-wide view of state connectivity.
- Growth in department real-time data analytics and smart infrastructure rollout becomes business as usual.
Connectivity uplift is delivered through strategic partnerships between government and industry
In practice, this should mean:
- The NSW Government partners with other levels of government, the private sector, the research community and service providers to undertake innovative trials and deliver ongoing connectivity improvements.
- Connectivity is delivered as a service in a coordinated way across government departments to deliver world-leading solutions for solving connectivity problems.
