The PSN provides a reliable, resilient and secure platform for exclusive use by frontline responders and other essential services.
Programs supporting the PSN
Critical Communications Enhancement Program
The CCEP is expanding the footprint of the PSN, building a statewide interoperable platform for Emergency Service Organisations (ESOs) and essential services.
Public Safety Mobile Broadband
PSMB will deliver a mission-critical, national mobile broadband capability for exclusive and prioritised use by ESOs.
In-Building Coverage program
In-Building Coverage solutions extend PSN coverage inside infrastructure, helping first responders stay connected in hospitals, tunnels, train stations and airports.
Deploying mobile assets
Deployable assets are portable units that provide temporary connectivity or power when and where it’s needed most. During emergencies, assets including Cells on Wheels (portable base stations used to provide temporary network coverage) and generators are deployed to keep communities safe and connected.
Public Safety Network
The Public Safety Network helps save lives. It keeps emergency services, government agencies and essential services connected when it matters most – providing dedicated radio communications for use during emergencies.
Public Safety Mobile Broadband
A national Public Safety Mobile Broadband capability will provide emergency services with access to high-speed mobile voice and data services to communicate more easily and improve responses to critical incidents.
In-Building Coverage
In-Building Coverage is an extension of the Public Safety Network, providing critical coverage within buildings or other physical infrastructure. These structures usually have limited PSN service.
