Keeping NSW connected during crisis
Connectivity is vital to remaining safe and connected, and we work to ensure telecommunications assets remain operational for all.
We lead the state’s Telecommunications Services Functional Area and work with emergency services to coordinate support and resources to protect public and commercial telecommunications infrastructure during emergencies and natural disasters.
We do this by:
- Facilitating the protection of critical infrastructure
- Deploying Liaison Officers to State Emergency Operations Centres
- Coordinating safe access and egress to telecommunications infrastructure
- Operating through four phases of emergency management: prevention, preparation, response and recovery
- Enhancing telecommunications resilience and emergency readiness through geospatial, operational and strategic intelligence.
