About our Payroll Tax Administration Review
The NSW Government is changing how payroll tax is managed in response to a review led by the NSW Productivity Commissioner. The review looked at how payroll tax is administered for legal compliance, but not the tax rates or thresholds. You can read the Payroll Tax Administration Review final report (PDF 10.08MB) for more details as well as the government response to the report (PDF 237.75KB).
The government has agreed to all the recommendations from the review, which were based on public feedback.
These changes will make it easier to do business in NSW by reducing the paperwork needed for payroll tax compliance and improving business productivity. The NSW Productivity Commissioner focuses on making the business environment better to improve productivity.
You can suggest more improvements through the NSW Productivity Commission.
