Unwin Street, Earlwood
The NSW Government is completing remediation works to address site contamination, making it safe for community use and improving local biodiversity.
The Waste Assets Management Corporation within Property and Development NSW, in collaboration with the Office of Strategic Lands, is working to remediate contaminated land at 14–18 Unwin Street, Earlwood.
We have lodged a development application to remediate the site which will become part of NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service’s expanded Wolli Creek Regional Park.
What we propose
These works are focused solely on remediation and making the land safe, including:
- removal of surface building waste
- capping with clean clay and topsoil to contain any potential contaminants
- stabilisation, including native planting and soil erosion prevention works.
Creating this new area will support recreation, enhance biodiversity, and contribute to a healthier natural environment for generations to come.
Next steps
Subject to approval and suitable weather, works are expected to begin in April 2026 and be completed mid-year.
The site will be transferred to NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service no later than 30 June 2026. The site will be restored with native vegetation and form part of Wolli Creek Regional Park.
