Artist impressions of the new Bombala Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) expansion have been released, offering the community its first look at the purpose-built health facility that will enhance aged care accommodation and health services in the region.
The $40 million project will deliver 20 additional aged care beds, increasing capacity from 10 to 30 beds and supporting the current and future healthcare needs of the community.
The expansion includes construction of a new residential aged care wing, bringing services together under one roof and strengthening access to local care.
The modern design features an elevated extension that maximises natural light and captures the area’s scenic views. Residents and families will also benefit from new outdoor areas designed to support wellbeing and connection to Country.
Extensive consultation with staff, stakeholders and the community has informed the latest design. The new aged care spaces are designed to provide a welcoming, home-like environment that supports comfort, safety and dignity for residents.

Community feedback has helped shape key design elements, including:
- Reflecting Bombala's local character to create a warm, accessible environment
- Shared spaces and room layouts, including dining, lounge and garden areas that support inclusivity for residents, visitors and staff
- Wayfinding, colours, materials and artwork to create a calm and easy-to-navigate environment
The project also includes a linkway to connect the new building with the existing MPS.
Staff accommodation options are being explored to support recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals in the region.
The community is invited to provide feedback on the project, with the planning application now on public exhibition.
