Two Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) staff have been recognised as finalists in the NSW Health 2026 Excellence in Allied Health Awards.
Shellie Berryman, an Allied Health Assistant at South East Regional Hospital, has been named a finalist for Allied Health Assistant / Technician / Support Person of the Year.
Laura McTernan, an Occupational Therapist with our Inland North team, is a finalist for Early Career Allied Health Professional of the Year.

These annual awards recognise the talent, dedication and compassion of allied health professionals, allied health assistants and support staff working across NSW Health. They highlight the vital contribution these teams make to improving the health and wellbeing of people and communities every day.
This year, 35 finalists have been selected across seven award categories, acknowledging excellence in clinical care, innovation, leadership and collaboration.
Both Shellie and Laura were also recognised locally at Southern's 2025 Excellence in Allied Health Awards in October, where they were honoured for their outstanding contributions to patient care and their dedication to their professions.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Art Gallery of NSW on Thursday 26 March 2026, with the event livestreamed for colleagues, family and community members across the state.
Southern congratulates Shellie and Laura on this incredible achievement and thanks all allied health professionals, assistants and support staff for the essential roles they play in improving health and wellbeing in our communities every day.
