As we step into 2026, Southern celebrates the diversity and richness of the communities we serve.
We are proud to share and acknowledge the journey we are on with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and communities to improve health outcomes.
That means listening, creating culturally safe services, strengthening, and growing our Aboriginal workforce, and working in genuine partnership. As part of that, we acknowledge the impact racism has on accessing care and services, and on health outcomes, and commit ourselves to calling out and stamping out racism.

We share this short video with our staff and community, highlighting our call to action; and extending an invitation to join us on this shared journey to not only improve and develop our services but heal, grow, and understand.
The strength of our staff and community is our shared sense of belonging to this place and each other; everyone deserves care that respects who they are, and where they come from.
At Southern NSW Local Health District, you are welcome, today and every day - we are here for you.
