Tracy's sweet act of remembrance
In the lead up to Easter, Tracy Walker, Ambassador from the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation hopped into the Oncology unit at South East Regional Hospital as part of a nation-wide Easter egg drive in oncology wards across Australia to brighten the day of people with cancer undergoing treatment.
Tracy distributed chocolate Easter eggs to patients receiving chemotherapy treatment at the hospital.

Fit and funny 87-year-old, Tonia Jauncey was delighted to receive the surprise gift. Tonia lives on a rural property in Brogo and is receiving treatment for bowel cancer. She told us she was out mowing last night until it was too dark to see and is still the designated driver for her 60-something year old kids when they go out for their regular family lunch!

All ambassadors have some form of lived experience with ovarian cancer and the Easter egg drive aims to spread joy and foster awareness of the work of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
It was a particularly poignant visit for Tracy, who last year tragically lost her 26 year old daughter Antoinette to ovarian cancer. Antoinette was treated at South East Regional Hospital in Bega and Tracy is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give back in her daughter’s memory.
Thank you to Tracy, and to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation for bringing Easter cheer to South East Regional Hospital and honouring Antoinette’s memory with kindness.
