Transport is committed to creating a workplace where people with disability and carers feel included and supported. We want everyone to have the opportunity to do their best work. This Disability Action Plan 2026–2030 outlines the steps we will take to remove barriers and improve accessibility. It also sets out how we will build a more inclusive workplace.
The plan focuses on increasing representation and improving access across our workplace. It also aims to build inclusive leadership and support career growth. The plan was developed with people with disability and carers. Together, we are working to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and able to contribute and succeed.
Acknowledgement of Country
Transport recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia, and acknowledges their continuing spiritual, cultural, social, and economic connection to our lands and waters.
We recognise that Country has been caring for the First Nations people, including people with disabilities, for thousands of years through care, connection, kinship and belonging.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures hold long-standing knowledge of inclusion and accessibility where people with disability have always belonged within community and with Country.
We acknowledge that many First Nations people with disability continue to experience exclusion and systemic barriers that do not honour cultural ways of caring and contribute to economic and social inequity.
We acknowledge the strength and leadership of First Nations people with disability and commit to listening, learning and truthfully telling stories of lived experience to co-create spaces that are accessible, inclusive and culturally safe.
