Both the Parramatta Light Rail services and the walking and bike path allow commuters to better connect with key locations across Greater Parramatta including:

Parramatta Light Rail benefits to commuters
Parramatta Light Rail offers commuters:
- 16 new stops with ramp access, hearing loops, network maps and electronic displays indicating when the next service will arrive.
- Regular services from 5am to 1am, initial services every 9 minutes between 7am and 7pm; every 12 minutes between 5am and 7am; and every 16 minutes between 11pm and 1am.
- Integrated NSW Opal card ticketing.
- Modern and comfortable air-conditioned vehicles that can carry up to 400 passengers and include wheelchair spaces and bike racks on board.
New walking and bike riding path
In addition to Parramatta Light Rail services, commuters can now use the new 5.7km shared walking and bike riding path between Carlingford and Parramatta.
We recommend trying out the path, not just because it offers a great form of exercise, but it's also good for the environment too.

Destinations
We recommend using the light rail services to get to Parramatta's dining, entertainment and retail offerings.
It also connects you to Parramatta and Westmead stations, providing access to train, ferry and bus services across Greater Sydney.
With services now running between 5am and 1am, 7 days a week, we suggest leaving the car at home and hopping on the light rail instead.

Light rail now servicing Westmead Health Precinct
Parramatta Light Rail now stops at Westmead Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital.
Running between Carlingford and Westmead, the Light Rail also provides connections to Westmead and Parramatta stations, Parramatta North and CBD.
Westmead Station and the Westmead T-Way Interchange is a short walk to Westmead Hospital, Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Westmead Private Hospital providing quick and easy travel choices via rail, buses and the light rail to key destinations including:
- Parramatta
- Blacktown
- Western Sydney
- Sydney CBD.
We recommend using these new services for your commute, day or night, instead of relying on a car.
Facilities
If you ride on your commute, we suggest using the End of Trip facilities and Bicycle parking located within the Westmead Health Precinct. There's over 100 bike racks available to staff and visitors.

Light Rail now services Western Sydney University’s South, City and Westmead Campuses
Parramatta Light Rail now stops at Western Sydney University's South City and Westmead campuses.
The closest stop for South Campus is Yallamundi, east of the campus near Victoria Road.
Given that in many cases it is faster and more convenient to travel to Campus by public transport than private vehicle, why not give it a try?

Buses
Buses stop right outside:
- Bankstown City Campus on Rickard Road
- Bankstown Central Shopping Centre
- Bankstown Train Station
These provide frequent services to nearby suburbs and to Greater Sydney.
Trip changes are coming to the T3 Bankstown Line from September 2024. We recommend commuters use the Trip Planner to find the best routes during the changes.
