Plan around peak times
Transport data tells us that the travel times for the Monday to Friday inbound commute towards North Sydney on Warringah Freeway are slowest between 8am and 8:45am. If you have some flexibility in your work start time, you could have a faster trip if you plan your trip to avoid this period.
During this time, we strongly recommend that you plan ahead, consider all your travel options and allow extra time to reach your destination.
Make use of public transport alternatives
If you live near a station, you could always avoid the traffic and get the train or metro instead. Without having to concentrate on driving, you may be able to use the time to do some work or catch up on other tasks. Your wallet and the environment will also thank you. The cost of catching the train is generally cheaper than driving.
You can use Trip Planner to plan a trip on public transport or walking, cycling, taxi or rideshare with live journey updates.
With Metro services between Chatswood and Sydenham now running, your commute may now be easier. You can find more information on the Sydney Metro website.
