NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and recognise the ongoing contributions of First Nations communities across Australia.
This year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, marks 50 years of elevating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and honouring the generations of Elders, leaders and communities who have shaped the NAIDOC movement. It also looks ahead to a strong and proud future.
Celebrating and learning together
To mark NAIDOC Week, NSW Trustee and Guardian staff took part in a trivia event that encouraged learning and reflection on the rich history, cultures and contributions of First Nations peoples.
The event explored topics including significant historical events, influential First Nations people, languages and contemporary achievements. It provided an opportunity for staff to deepen their understanding and reflect on the diversity, resilience and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
