What we heard and where we are heading
What we are proud of
We heard pride in our strong community connections and in the compassion of our people. Staff described teams that work together across vast distances, while community members shared stories of services and partnerships making a real difference.
Where we will keep growing
Our staff and communities have a deep understanding of what’s working and where we can improve care across our region. They spoke about the progress we have made, and the areas that need continued attention. Their feedback directly shaped the four priorities in this plan and will guide our focus over the next five years. We heard that our efforts should focus on building services that:
- are easy to navigate, closer to home, and shaped around individual needs
- have a stronger focus on prevention, health literacy and local partnerships
- continue to grow, support and retain a skilled local workforce
- test and expand new models of care, including virtual health, research and clinical trials
- have strong stewardship accountability.
Alongside these priorities, people also told us about what must underpin everything we do: equity in access and outcomes, care that is environmentally and socially responsible and connecting our services as one across many places. They also highlighted the importance of cultural safety for Aboriginal people and communities, and support for mental, social and emotional wellbeing, embedded across every priority in this plan.
