
Seini Afeaki boasts more than 30 years of dedicated service in the NSW human services sector, in both government and non-government organisations. Formerly Deputy Secretary to the Ministry of Finance in the Kingdom of Tonga, she now applies her expertise in project management and policy development at the NSW Children’s Court Clinic.
Seini was formerly a Commissioner for the NSW Community Relations Commission, where she earned the ‘Living for Others’ Award for outstanding community service. Originally from Tonga, she chaired the Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre and played a pivotal role in founding organisations like the Tongan Community Support Services. Presently, as Senior Advisor to the Pacific Women’s Professional & Business Network, Seini contributes to initiatives combating sexual abuse and family violence, such as Breaking Silent Codes.
Seini spearheaded the CORE Group for the Pacific Mental Health Initiative, securing fund for groundbreaking research on Pacific communities' mental health in Australia and 4 trained Pacific Mental Health Educators. This collaboration with NSW Health in addressed the essential needs of the Pacific communities. In 2023, she initiated and managed the Pacific Women in Trades project, displaying unwavering commitment to gender equity. Seini's enduring dedication to service, leadership and advocacy continues to make a lasting impact on the community.
