Georgia Shakeshaft
Georgia is a law student and youth advocate whose early career spans international youth policy-making spaces at the intersection between climate and gender justice.

Georgia was appointed as a Girl Up Teen Advisor with the United Nations Foundation at age 15, where she advised a global not-for-profit on their programming and strategy to achieve gender equality. She worked with a global network of young women to transform global priorities into local action in 152 countries.
Georgia is an Alumni of Plan International Australia’s Youth Activist Series and a current Board Committee Member. In 2023 she worked with Plan to co-author a report on the impact of climate change on the education of girls across the Asia-Pacific. She attended COP28, where she advocated for greater loss and damage funding for women and girls.
Georgia works with the YOUNGO Gender Working Group, where she advocates for children, especially girls, to have their priorities and needs reflected in multilateral climate policy. She has co-authored a number of reports on climate policy and youth inclusion alongside young Australians and she has also attended a number of multilateral forums to advocate for gender equality and climate action.
As a young woman from a regional area, Georgia seeks to ensure diverse voices are represented in decision-making spaces.
