Date and time: 10:00am Monday 3 March 2025 until 4:00pm Sunday 16 March 2025 AEDT.
Mechanic: All new subscribers to the Rural Women’s Network newsletter who join from 3 - 16 March 2025 through the website will be in the running to win the prize.
Prize: 1 double pass to the Rural Women’s Gathering 2025 in Lismore. The prize covers the cost of economy flights and approved accommodation cost for the winner and their guest.
The Rural Women's Network (RWN), established in 1992, is a statewide government program of Women NSW. The RWN aims to strengthen regional, rural and remote (RRR) communities by listening to, connecting with, developing and inspiring women across NSW. It does this through creating opportunities for education, strategies to overcome adversity, developing leadership and participation in decision-making, as well as personal and business resilience.
1. The Promoter is the NSW The Cabinet Office (ABN 1516 0253 516), acting for and on behalf of the Crown in right of the State of New South Wales, of 52 Martin Place Sydney NSW 2000, telephone (02) 9228 5555 (“Promoter”).
2. Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
3. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and anything else that refers to this competition, these Terms and Conditions will prevail.
4. The Rural Women’s Gathering is best suited for women. Entry is open to all women residing in regional, rural and remote NSW, excluding metropolitan areas (including the Greater Sydney Region, Newcastle and Wollongong).
5. Staff (including employees, contractors, work experience students and volunteers) and immediate family members of the Promoter and its associated agencies and bodies corporate are not permitted to enter. Immediate family members include the following: spouse, ex-spouse, defacto spouse, child or step child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step parent, grandparent, step grandparent, aunt, niece, sister, step sister or first cousin.
6. The minimum age for entry into the competition is 18 years old.
7. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to request the winner to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that the winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
8. The competition commences on 10:00am Monday, 3 March 2025 until 4:00pm Sunday, 16 March 2025 AEDT.
9. (the “Promotional Period”). Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Promotional Period to be valid.
10. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries not received by the Promoter or delays due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
11. To enter, individuals must complete the following steps during the Promotional Period:
- a) Visit the official Rural Women’s Network subscription webpage - nsw.gov.au/RWNSubscriberCampaign
- b) Fill in the subscription e-form and tick the box acknowledging entry into the competition.
- c) Click to submit the form.
12. Entrants may only enter the competition once.
13. The prize will be awarded to one randomly selected new subscriber within the competition period.
14. The prize will be awarded to the person named in the entry.
15. The Promoter’s decision to determine the winner is final. The Promoter will not enter into any correspondence regarding the competition result or any decisions the Promoter makes in connection with the competition.
16. The winner will, as far as practicable, be notified by email within three (3) working days of the draw of the prize. The winner can claim the prize by contacting the Promoter in response to the notification of the draw by reply-email.
17. If the winner does not respond to the Promoter confirming their acceptance of the prize within 21 days of being notified of their win, the prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 21 days or else they will also forfeit the prize).
18. If the winner rejects the prize, or if their entry is invalid or in breach of these terms, or if the winner is unable to claim the prize for any other reason, the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with these terms.
19. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Promotional Period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter, at ruralwomensnetwork@tco.nsw.gov.au.
20. The Promoter reserves the right to redetermine the winner in the event of an entrant, claiming to be the winner, being unable to satisfy these Terms and Conditions.
21. The winner will win one double pass to the Rural Women’s Gathering 2025 in Lismore. The prize covers the cost of economy flights and approved accommodation cost for the winner and their guest. The guest must be over the age of 18.
22. The prize includes:
- a) 1 double pass to the Rural Women’s Gathering 2025 in Lismore. The prize covers the cost of economy flights and approved accommodation cost for the winner and their guest.
23. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
24. The prize does not include transfers including to and from airports, accommodation and the venue. Any transport cost will be incurred by the winner and their guest.
25. The Prize does not include spending money, tax or personal expenses and any other costs incurred by the winner and guest that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are their own responsibility.
26. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
27. The Promoter would liaise with the winner and book reasonable flights and accommodation on their and their guest’s behalf.
28. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow the winner and/or her guest to take part in any or all aspects of the prize if it determines in its absolute discretion that the winner and/or her guest poses a risk to the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of themselves or any other person.
29. In the event the winner does not take the prize by the time stipulated, then the entire prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
30. The Rural Women’s Gathering 2025 passes are only valid for the date or period specified on the pass or by the provider and are subject to any terms and conditions imposed by the provider. Once awarded, the Promoter is not liable for any pass that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.
31. The prize is specified for the Rural Women’s Gathering 2025. If the winner (for whatever reason) is unable to travel or does not take an element of the prize within the time stipulated by the Promoter then the prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
32. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and prize supplier’s requirements. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to use the prize as stated.
33. In the event there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Competition, the decision of the Promoter is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
34. Any entry that is made on behalf of an entrant by a third party, or that is incomplete or indecipherable, will be invalid.
35. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who the Promoter has reason to believe has tampered with the entry process, submitted an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions or engaged in conduct in entering the competition which is unlawful, fraudulent, misleading or damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the competition and/or Promoter.
36. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are the winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
37. If this competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- a) to disqualify any entrant; or
- b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition.
38. Any costs associated with accessing or entering the competition, including but not limited to phone calls, internet costs or mobile data costs, is the entrant's responsibility.
39. Any entrant found to be using any form of software or third-party application to enter multiple times (including scripting software) will have all entries invalidated and any claim to any prize will be invalidated. If such an entrant is awarded a prize and then found to have breached this clause, the entrant must immediately return any awarded prize to the Promoter. The Promoter has sole discretion to determine if this clause has been breached by any entrant. The Promoter reserves the right to request whatever documentation it deems necessary to confirm if the entrant has breached this clause. An entrant must provide any requested documentation to the Promoter upon request.
40. The Promoter does not limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees provided under the Australian Consumer Law in the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, the Promoter and its officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury, arising in any way out of:
- a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
- b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
- c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
- d) ny variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions, delay in delivery of the prize or failure to ensure safe delivery of the prize; or
- e) the taking and/or use of a prize.
41. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any taxation implications that may arise from winning of a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.
42. The Promoter collects personal information ("PI") in order to conduct the competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Management Plan. In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Management Plan, the Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the PI of the winner and their guest for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes, and the PI of all entrants for statistical and reporting purposes, sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. The Privacy Management Plan also contains information about how persons may access, update or correct their PI, complain about a breach of the Information Protection Principles in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with.

You are providing this personal information to join the Rural Women’s Network mailing list and to go into the running to win a double pass to the 2025 Rural Women’s Gathering in Lismore. The prize covers the cost of economy flights and approved accommodation cost for the winner and their guest. The winner will be contacted directly by Women NSW for their proof of identity, age and residence, and for information needed to book flights and accommodation.
This information will be used:
• for the Rural Women's Network mailing list and for directly related actions arising from that request,
• to contact the winner and obtain the information necessary to certify proof of identity, age and residence, and to book flights and accommodation for the winner and their guest, and
• for statistical and reporting purposes (by postcode, individual names will not be used).
Personal information collected from the winner and their guest will be disclosed to the relevant booking entities for the purposes of booking flights and accommodation. The names and pictures of the winner and their guest may appear in social media posts made by the Rural Women’s Network and in the newsletter for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes. Women NSW will not disclose your personal information to anybody else unless required or authorised by law, such as by court order.
Women NSW, a division of The Cabinet Office, will store and protect your personal information until the enquiry or purpose of contact has concluded. Your information will be stored by Women NSW within The Cabinet Office. Women NSW uses email marketing tools Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor. Accordingly, personal information may also be stored by these providers.
You may opt-in to be placed on other mailing lists, newsletters or other recurring communications forums. If you do, your information will be used for this purpose and stored until you chose to opt-out.
