Guidance on generative AI
The NSW Health AI Taskforce has been setup to guide the use of different types of AI in the public health system, and an updated framework is being developed. Digital Health Solutions is representing Western Sydney LHD on the Taskforce.
The WSLHD AI Ethics Assurance Assessment (DOCX 33.46KB) is to ensure that research that uses AI is considering the 5 Mandatory Ethical Principles:
- community benefit and possible harms
- fairness
- privacy and security
- transparency
- accountability.
While Generative AI offers significant advantages and opportunities for healthcare, it also brings challenges that demand careful oversight, especially in the areas of:
- ethics
- safety
- governance
- sustainability
- privacy
- security
- compliance with regulations.
