About allied health
The allied health workforce in Western Sydney LHD includes clinicians from many disciplines, such as:
- dietetics
- occupational therapy
- physiotherapy
- podiatry
- social work
- speech pathology
- medical physics.
Allied health clinicians work with doctors and nurses as part of a multidisciplinary team. Together, they support all clinical specialties.
Clinicians provide diagnostic and therapeutic services across:
- inpatient care
- outpatient and ambulatory care
- community health settings.
They are also based in hospital emergency departments across the LHD.
