NESA's Code of Ethics and Conduct
4. Roles and Responsibilities
4.1. Employee Responsibilities
As a NESA employee, you must:
- act in a way that is consistent with the Ethical Framework and comply with this Code
- conduct yourself in a manner that reflects the core values in action
- seek assistance when you are unsure about how to implement the Ethical Framework and or this Code
- promote the implementation of the Ethical Framework and this Code with your colleagues
- speak up when you see any behaviour that you believe does not live up to the Ethical Framework and the general principles and requirements in this Code
- report wrongdoing where you believe this has occurred.
4.2. Manager Responsibilities
Managerial behaviour sets the tone for the conduct of all employees. Managers (including senior executives, senior managers, supervisors and others holding senior positions) play a critical role in promoting a culture that values high ethical standards and ethical behaviour.
As a manager, in addition to complying with the employee responsibilities above, you must:
- model, lead and promote the implementation of the Ethical Framework and this Code.
- ensure that workplace culture, practices and systems operate consistently with the Ethical Framework.
4.3. Senior Executive responsibilities
In addition to the manager responsibilities above, the NESA CEO and senior executives are required to:
- oversee the implementation of this Code and the Ethical Framework and make improvements to systems, processes and culture where necessary
- ensure the general conduct and management of the functions of NESA accord with the Ethical Framework.
