About the course
The Armenian Continuers syllabus is part of the Collaborative Curriculum and Assessment Framework for Languages (CCAFL). Find out more about the syllabus, including the course description, prescribed concepts and what students learn.
The CCAFL project is a national collaborative curriculum and assessment model that supports the provision of high quality languages education at the senior secondary level. It provides a common framework for syllabus development and external assessment across small candidature languages that might otherwise be unsustainable.
NESA’s active participation in the CCAFL project ensures the provision of consistent and uniform implementation of high quality language curriculum for those students in NSW wishing to undertake a small candidature language course.
This course provides opportunities for students to develop their skills and knowledge of Armenian. Through tasks associated with a range of texts and text types, students gain insight into the language and culture of Armenian-speaking communities.
Preliminary
Students’ intercultural and linguistic skills, knowledge and understanding of Armenian will be developed through the study of a range of texts related to the concepts and topics, viewed from one or more of the 3 perspectives (personal, community and international).
HSC
Students’ intercultural and linguistic skills, knowledge and understanding of Armenian will continue to be developed through the study of a range of texts related to the concepts and topics, viewed from the 3 perspectives (personal, community and international).
The Preliminary and HSC courses have prescribed concepts as their organisational focuses:
- identity
- legacy
- responsibility
- sustainability.
Each CCAFL Languages Continuers syllabus has mandatory topics related to these concepts.
