Description of activity
For this assessment, complete a literature review on the topic: Socialisation throughout the life span
Students are asked to review 4-8 sources on this topic and write a literature review on the articles/sources selected.
Students are required to review the literature, examine and draw conclusions about the various stages of the lifespan.
Students are required to analyse the interrelationships between individuals, groups, families and communities.
Context
As part of the Core unit: Families and Communities, students will conduct a literature review of secondary sources to establish a basis of knowledge for the topic (or question) being researched.
Outcomes
- P2.2 describes the role of the family and other groups in the socialisation of individuals
- P3.1 explains the changing nature of families and communities in contemporary society
- P3.2 analyses the significance of gender in defining roles and relationships
- P4.1 utilises research methodology appropriate to the study of social issues
- P4.2 presents information in written, oral and graphic form

Criteria for assessing learning
Students will be assessed on their ability to:
- use relevant literature to examine and draw conclusions about socialisation throughout the lifespan
- sustain arguments based on relevant research using examples to justify points made
- analyse the interrelationships between individuals, groups, families and communities
- effectively communicate ideas in an organised, coherent manner using relevant syllabus terminology.
