Stage 6 Indonesian Extension will not be suspended in 2024 due to increased candidature since 2020.
Stage 6 Indonesian and Literature is at risk of suspension due to continued low HSC candidature in 2020. Should the candidature fall below 15 in 2021, NESA will suspend the course after the 2023 HSC examination.
Timeline for the suspension of the Stage 6 Indonesian and Literature course
2022 | Last year for Year 11 enrolments in Indonesian and Literature |
2023 | Indonesian and Literature not offered at Year 11 Last year for Year 12 enrolments and HSC examination for Indonesian and Literature |
2024 | Indonesian and Literature not available as an HSC course. Students will not be able to repeat Indonesian and Literature at Year 12. |
NESA has determined that when the candidature of an HSC course falls below 15 for each of three consecutive years, the subject will be suspended (BOSTES 9/15).
If, at some time later, demand and sustainability increase to a level where the subject would again become viable as an HSC course, the course may be reactivated.
