The new Stage 6 Science Extension syllabus is now available for download (as PDFs or Word documents) from the NESA website.
The new Stage 6 Science Extension syllabus and school-based assessment requirements are to be implemented in NSW schools from Term 4, 2018 and will be examined for the first time for the HSC in 2019.
Key features of the new syllabus include:
- Provision of the opportunity for students to research a topic of interest
- Enhanced data analysis skills including manipulation of large data sets
- Application of authentic, scientific research procedures
- Development of a scientific research portfolio
- Production of a scientific research report to a level suitable for publication.
