The new Technology Mandatory Years 7–8 Syllabus is now available for download (as a PDF or Word document) from the NESA website.
In 2018 schools will continue to deliver the current Technology (Mandatory) Years 7–8 Syllabus(2003).
From Term 1, 2019 implementation commences for the new Technology Mandatory Years 7–8 Syllabus (2017).
Key features of the new syllabus include:
- four mandatory Technology contexts including; Agriculture and Food Technologies, Digital Technologies, Engineered Systems and Material Technologies
- 50 indicative hours for Digital Technologies
- a reduction in the number of outcomes
- Design and Production skills embedded into the knowledge and understanding content.
