Amendments to the Guidelines for School Providers (CRICOS, July 2026)
NESA has amended the Guidelines for Approved NSW School Providers Delivering Courses to Overseas Students (the Guidelines).

- Principals and proprietors of non-government schools with overseas students
- Representatives of systems of schools with overseas students
- Principal Executive Officers of school providers (CRICOS)
NESA has amended the Guidelines in response to changes to the ESOS Act (December 2025) and the National Code (January 2026).
The changes include:
- updated requirements for initial school provider approval
- revised ‘fit and proper’ criteria
- strengthened requirements for education agents and agent commissions.
Some structural and administrative updates have also been made.
The amended Guidelines and a summary of the changes are available on the NESA website.
School providers should update their policies and processes.
