Are you an employer looking for help with training or getting skilled staff? Skills brokers with Training Services NSW can help you retrain or upskill staff or find new skilled staff.
What skills brokers do
Skills brokers help upskill displaced workers or people at risk of unemployment.
They help connect jobseekers and recent school leavers with training providers.
There are 16 skills brokers located across NSW to help employers and workers.
The brokers belong to Training Services NSW. We handle vocational education and training in NSW.
How our brokers can help
Our skills brokers can help employers:
locate new staff who are trained and ready for roles with specific skills
find ways to upskill existing staff, or new staff who need training
redeploy staff who were stood down, are at risk of being stood down, or who are facing retrenchment, or into a new role in your business or another business.
make connections with the right organisations and people
find jobs seekers who have relevant skills or are in training to get the necessary skills.
Which staff are eligible
Get support from our skills brokers for:
new staff who meet the eligibility criteria
existing staff at risk of unemployment who need retraining to secure ongoing employment.
How we organise training
Our skills broker will assess which training course meets your staff and business needs.
Your staff will need to enrol with a Registered Training Organisation (a TAFE or private college or a community college). In most cases the training will be free.
They’ll need to provide proof of eligibility when they enrol. For example,
payslip indicating JobKeeper payments
notice of redundancy
other documentation relating to their employment.
Employers may also need to provide some documentation or evidence.
The skills broker can provide further information (as required).
