NSW Reconstruction Authority

The NSW Reconstruction Authority was established in December 2022 and is dedicated to disaster preparedness, recovery and reconstruction.

The NSW Government is working to transition Resilience NSW’s functions, staff and budgets to maximise the government’s response and recovery capability.

One year on from the February-March 2022 severe weather and floods

The widespread and devastating floods that occurred in NSW during February and March 2022 were an unprecedented catastrophe. The scale of damage, destruction and displacement in the impacted regions was unlike any other previous emergency event in New South Wales.

The recovery of impacted communities and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure continues to be a momentous task. This report captures the progress made in supporting our communities to build back better for a more resilient future.
