What to do if your home is lost or damaged in a flood
If your home has been lost for damaged in a flood, you can access support and mental health services in your area.
Emergency or temporary accommodation after a flood
Accommodation support is available to people affected by floods.
You can access this by calling Service NSW on 13 77 88. Service NSW staff can also help you find other support available to you.
Types of accommodation include:
- emergency accommodation and shelter
- longer term temporary accommodation such as housing pods, mobile motor homes or caravan parks and campgrounds.
The NSW Department of Planning and Environment has also made it easier to create or install temporary accommodation. Visit the Department of Planning and Environment's page on Temporary accommodation for more information about installing your own accommodation.
Temporary housing in the Northern Rivers region
Temporary housing sites provide a safe and secure home while people affected by floods begin their recovery.
These sites are usually determined by the NSW Government, in partnership with councils and local community groups.
