Jacks
Find out about different types of jacks and when they are used.
Jacks that comply with the relevant Australian Standard (AS/NZS 2693) are used when it is not safe or suitable to use a crane or hoist to raise or lower a load. Follow manufacturers recommendations when using jacks.
Note: carjacks are not rated for lifting and should not be used for lifting.
Timber or other approved packing under jacks should be independent of other packers.
All jacks should be inspected before use to make sure the Working Load Limit (WLL) is matched to the task.
