This diverse industry includes a broad range of services like: 

  • hairdressing and beauty services 

  • diet and weight management centres 

  • funerals, crematoriums and cemeteries 

  • religious services 

  • car repair and maintenance 

  • machinery repair services 

  • private households employing staff 

  • other personal services. 

Over half of the workers in this industry have a vocational education and training (VET) qualification although around a third do not have a post-school qualification. 

More than half of those with their main job in this industry are employed full-time.
