Employer Portal guide for the community services industry long service leave scheme
Learn about the tasks that you can complete in the Employer Portal for registering, accessing, managing and making levy contributions for the community services industry portable long service leave scheme.
Getting started with the Employer Portal
Employers need to complete 4 tasks each quarter to meet their obligations under the Community Services Sector (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2024:
- Access the portal.
- Enter or upload your workers.
- Submit service returns.
- Make levy contributions.
To use the portal, you need:
- a MyServiceNSW Business Account, and
- to be registered as an employer for the Community Services Industry (CSI) Portable Long Service Leave Scheme.
Registered employers are listed in the Employer Look Up Tool.
Before starting, check that your business details and delegates are up to date in your MyService NSW Business Profile.
Portal functions
Find more information on the functions in the new Employer Portal.
To access the Employer Portal, log in to your MyServiceNSW Business Account from the LSC website.

You can invite other users to act on behalf of your business and update their access or permissions any time.
Select Business details in the home bar to begin.

Enter or upload workers
You can add workers in 2 ways:
- enter their details one at a time, or
- upload a CSV file to add multiple workers at once.
Make sure you include all required information, such as:
- first name and family name
- date of birth
- employment start date
- contact and address details.
After adding workers, you can view and manage both current and previously enrolled workers. You can filter records by active, inactive, or registration status.
Select Manage employees in the home bar to begin.

Worker registration
Newly added workers will receive an invitation to register with the scheme. They must complete their registration using their MyServiceNSW account, including:
- proof of identity check
- eligibility questions.
Once their registration is complete, they receive an LSC Worker Reference ID.
Manage workforce changes
You can manage changes to your workforce, including:
- new hires
- departures
- changes in roles
- restart a previously terminated worker.
To restart a previously terminated worker:
- Go to Manage employees.
- Select the inactive worker’s name.
- Select Restart.
- Enter the employment restart date.
If the restart date falls within a previously submitted service return period, you must amend the service return for that previous period, as outlined under Manage and submit service returns.

There is no visibility of the foundation worker bonus in the Employer Portal, as this benefit comes directly from LSC to the worker.
This bonus is applied to eligible workers automatically as long as you included the worker in your service reporting between 1 July and 31 December 2025.
Only workers have access to view their foundation bonus in the Worker Portal.
Service returns are classified as ‘active’ or ‘completed’ so you can track your business’ reporting obligations.
To complete a service return, select the quarterly reporting period and ensure you have:
- current worker details
- gross ordinary wages for each worker
- a reason for any worker recorded with $0 gross ordinary wages
- employment end dates for workers who have ceased employment with your organisation.
Restarted workers with a start date in the current or a future reporting period will be automatically included in the relevant service return period.
If a worker’s restart date falls within a previously submitted period, the system will automatically create an amended service return for that period. This will appear in the Service returns tab.
You must review and submit the amended service return. This includes:
- the restarted worker’s gross ordinary wages
- paying any overdue levy amount for that worker.
You can save your progress at any time and submit your service return once all required information is entered.
Service returns must be submitted by the specified quarterly deadline to comply with scheme requirements.
Select Service returns in the home bar to begin.

After you submit a service return, you will receive a levy notice for that period. You can view and manage all levy notices for your business. Use filters such as return period and payment status to see which levies are paid, due or overdue.
If you make changes to a previously submitted service return, you will receive either:
- a supplementary levy notice showing the additional amount that you have to pay, or
- a credit note showing any amount in credit. Credits will be automatically applied to future levy payments.
We can only review and refund discrepancies where the amount owed is significant and the employer is experiencing cash flow issues.
Before paying, make sure your account has enough funds available.
You can pay levy contributions electronically using:
- credit or debit card
- PayID
- PayPal
- BPAY
- Google Pay.
Select Levies in the home bar to begin.
