About the survey
In 2023, the inaugural Women in Construction industry survey was launched. Up until then, little was known about the experience of women in the industry and the first-of-its-kind survey was created to understand baseline participation and sentiment across the sector.rvey
The survey comprises two components:
To be completed on behalf of construction businesses, to capture company data including policies such as flexibility and culture as well as facilities.
To be completed by individuals (both women and men) who work in the construction industry, with responses reflecting their personal experience onsite, aspirations, and motivations.
This survey was repeated annually over a three-year period, the results of which have been consolidated into three separate reports, with the final report published in 2025. The survey results have been instrumental in providing a rich evidence base built from the voices of women and men across the industry.
The industry survey data is used to:
- understand cultural and diversity challenges in the industry
- identify opportunities to drive change
- help address the issues that prevent women entering and staying in the industry.
