Note: you don’t need to know if your land includes a Threatened Ecological Community or wetland. Our ecologists will assess this for you.
Timeline and process
Submitting an expression of interest is a 2-step, online, process:
- Fill out the expression of interest form.
- After you submit the form, you’ll get a link to map the area you want to protect. Within 10 days of receiving the link, use it to map the boundary of your proposed conservation area.
What happens next:
- Your expression of interest, including your proposed conservation area, is reviewed by our team.
- If prioritised, we’ll contact you to arrange a site visit.
- You’ll receive a draft conservation management plan.
- If your site represents good value for the set price, you’ll be offered a conservation agreement
- Once the agreement is registered on your land title, you’ll receive annual payments at a fixed rate, per hectare, per year.
The current submission period closes on 1 March 2026.
The next round of expressions of interest will open later in 2026.
